Dealing with anxiety resulting from the coronavirus

Currently, many people have anxieties related to their relatives who are over 70 or suffering from chronic illness in the face of the virus. Some people have already experienced terribly tragic losses. We are also seeing an increase in domestic violence following the months of lockdown.

All of the support and attention for health services are presently being focused on physical health and mainly for support of Covid-19 victims, which means that all other issues are left behind. However, there is an increase in mental health-related problems. There is a significant increase in anxiety and I am noticing an increase in depression too. Often when you are feeling anxious your own mind is making matters worse, particularly if you are unable to lead your life as before, you might be feeling isolated or feeling trapped.

When everything is focused on the virus, you may feel as if you don’t know where to turn to or you may feel that you should not look for help as your emotions are less relevant then the current situation. However, your feelings are important and should not be ignored or go unnoticed.

I offer assessment and treatment via online/phone platforms during this difficult time, and provide sessions in your home via secure online platforms. All medical insurance companies are funding sessions during this time that are attended virtually.

If you would like an appointment, please feel free to contact me to book for an initial assessment or a discussion about the services that l offer.
